The UK’s most glamorous, vintage-style circus has come to town, appealing to both adults and children, touring the UK from now until 30th September. In a gorgeous array of 1930s-inspired sequinned dresses, tailcoats and top hats, the troupe includes Italian gymnasts, Cuban acrobats, Russian dachshunds, Tweedy the clown and of course the uber-stylish founder Nell Gifford, with her miniature ponies. The soundtrack includes Gershwin, Cole Porter and Henry Hall. Don’t forget to book for the on-site, 60-cover restaurant Circus Sauce housed in two magnificent showman’s wagons with a three-course set menu, £30-£35 for adults, £20-£25 for children. Hot ‘street food’ style snacks are also served in the Circus Sauce Café, plus there’s a pizza wagon. (On an ethical note, all circus animals are well looked after, with the dogs and horses roaming free on several acres of land in between shows.) www.giffordscircus.com
