Is Lancome’s New Custom Foundation a Game Changer?
It’s the first of its kind to the market, but is it worth the price tag?
At £90 a bottle, it’s not something you’re going to buy on a whim.
But we can’t tell you how many times we’ve bought a foundation only to get it home and find it’s the wrong colour – despite vigorous testing (yes, trying it on the skin, going outside into the natural light, asking friends…) But could Lancome’s new Le Teint Particulier Custom Made Foundation help us save pounds in the long run?
Just launched in Harrods, Lancome’s latest beauty venture creates a one-of-a-kind foundation for each and every customer, matching their skin tone and shade to near-perfection.
It’s an experience in itself just buying the stuff too. A one-on-one consultation with a beauty advisor involves a scan of the face to capture the customer’s exact skin tone, and the formula is blended right then and there.
The technology is so advanced that it not only creates the right colour, but the coverage can be customised too, from sheer to full.
The foundation itself is said to be ‘weightless’ and infused with micro-fill technology, as well as hydrating, breathable and oil-free for a natural, radiant finish.
Each bottle is printed with a shade number so it’s easy to refer to when you’re due a refill.
So is it a game changer? We think it’ll certainly give other brands something to think about, as we’re getting more savvy and vocal about our beauty wants and needs. But will the mass market pay £90 for a 30ml bottle of foundation? Watch this face…
