The rucksack as we already know has been around forever, its not a groundbreaking fashion launch by any means but it is back and back with a bang as most big catwalk designers are launching fabulous versions of this practical and somewhat sought after fashion accessory.

From the biggest bloggers in the industry to the biggest models and film stars (Margot Robbie and Cara Delevinge we’re pointing at you here) it seems the best dressed fashion icons of our time are all rocking one trending item, the rucksack. But the big question is, how has this once pretty standard (mostly unattractive) and ‘sensible’ item managed to do a 360 and become the bag of the moment?

Once considered the geeky school essential or practical hiking bag the rucksack has been reinvented and is now clearly the ultimate ‘IT’ bag that oozes practicality, edginess and even glamour (Versace have launched a rucksack covered in sequins)

We’re putting it down to it being yet another reflection of 80’s fashion trends making a clear comeback and how fashion so obviously moves in circles in all areas of fashion and even beauty. Not news to you we know but nevertheless an interesting point to consider as especially recently there has been a rise in old school trends making waves in the fashion industry. Trends including; dungarees, overgrown beards for guys, blue eye shadow (read our article on how to wear blue eye shadow here), high waisted jeans, velvet jackets and oversized Levi denim jackets to name just a few.

Now the rucksack is back we believe its here to stay but we give you a word of warning, if you want to make a true fashion investment then be prepared to part with your cash as the best bags on the market are handcrafted from hardwearing materials and happen to be from some of the world’s most expensive brands. See below for our pick of the best rucksacks out there right now….
